As 2013 draws to a close, I can honestly say I achieved so much work wise this year that the end of 2013 has left me raring to go for 2014… bring on January!
Usually at this time of year I am cleaning my office, throwing out random scraps of “to do” lists and generally filing emails. This year however I am still at it, even though I closed my official last event on Thursday!
I love what I do, and I am fully aware that not many people get to say that. I love being creative, working with a blank canvas to create, inspire and see an event finish that you envisioned from scratch.
This year I did everything from creating a fully fledged circus to themed Great Gatsby parties. I did Alumni events, produced seminars and arranged bespoke dinners in areas we’ve never used before. I got to go to some amazing venues. I drank a lot of champagne. I ate way to many canapés!
I have grown my Event Managers group to over 200 people! I launched my own website for Event Managers and grew my Twitter following to over 1700 followers.
I became one of only 106 London based Hoot Suite University certified practitioners!
I have worked with some amazing people, I have met even more amazing people whom are also as passionate about events as me.
You need to love what you do, if you don’t you need to figure out a way to change it so you do!
I can’t wait for 2014…
